The Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley

The Ask

The Women's Foundation wanted to connect with their audience about women's issues locally and nationally. They were also looking to have a consistent and strategic voice across their platforms to increase engagement digitally during the pandemic.

The Work

I worked to write, create, illustrate, photograph and animate social media and web assets. We started by identifying their audience and researched the issues they were interested in.

The research impacted the language we used and how we could provide value to the Women’s Foundation's audience. We wrote about women's issues and the foundation’s events but we found that some of the value we could offer was leveraging the board’s experience and empowering women with that advice and mentoring.

For their Annual Purse Auction, I was able to work with the Marketing Chair and create a strategic social media plan and create a better Purse experience by designing a new webpage. On the page, we were able to improve the auction experience by being able to sort and see larger photos, highlight favorites, and read descriptions and improve the quality of the images of the purses ahead of the auction.

On the social media channels, we were able to shoot photos with the sponsors and their favorite purses that highlighted their company and the auction. Because it was a more personal post and highlighted the purses it was shared across their channels and their company’s channels increasing our reach.

The Results

With their second online auction, we were able to increase awareness through social media and a better purse experience they were able to raise 30% more funds than the year prior.

We were also able to increase their followers and engagement for the Purse Auction.
