HPE Zerto
The Challenge
How do you sell something mundane and only needed in emergencies? You make the client aware of your problem and your solution unforgettable. HPE rebranded their Zerto product and came to us to give them something that would help them get their sales teams’ foot in the door. HPE Zerto is a backup and recovery tool for large enterprises.
Our Solution
Our target was C-suite technology officers. To stand out in the crowded tech landscape, we built a concept around the moment your server backups are lost, to ransomware or corruption, and the panic of a system down. With HPE Zerto you can become a time traveler that can turn back the clock with restored backups with no down time and resume business. We named our concept Mission: Control because the thing you crave the most in a stressful situation is to have control of it.
My Role.
I centered the visual identity on a sleek, James Bond-esque look with a touch of sci-fi, pulling visual cues from watches, black holes, and black box timelines to create something that felt intriguing and sophisticated, not gimmicky. I worked closely with our copywriters to tell the story. Opening the box, the user is prompted to start the timer, reinforcing just how precious time is as the story unfolds: how fast a system can fail, and how every minute of downtime carries a real cost. It’s not just a backup of your system you need, it’s a recovery that restores your previous place in the timeline. Inside, alongside the timer, we included a few keepsake items designed to keep HPE Zerto top of mind long after the mailer landed on their desk.
